If you enjoy privacy, Maine has many places that are private. We live rural and love it. However, if you don't like cold winters, its probably not the place for you. This last winter we had more snow than we've seen in years. At least two storms a week and my kids had to make up 8 days of school.

Maine is an interesting state, for sure. One that I'd like to get to sometime. My biggest exposure to it has been through the novels of Stephen King, lol. He seems to have quite a lot of insight into it, though. But privacy sounds good to me. Maybe after I've had it with the metropolitan lifestyle I'll move up there.

I was stationed in Brunswick, I actually lived in Nobleboro (try finding that on a map) I tell people, maine is a great state to vacation in, but I dont reccomend living there.... retiring is a different story....just buy a house in a warm state so you can gtfu when the winter hits. Maine has 4 season like every other state Winter, Lobster, Muddy,Shrimp
